The Heritage Chinese 13YO course is designed for students who speak Chines at home or have a strong knowledge of Chinese . In addition, the student will have completed Heritage Chinese13 YO course. Heritage Chinese focuses on providing students with the opportunity to continue their Chinese language education similar to their home country language expectations. The curriculum is designed for students to master Chinese language through reading, writing and speaking. The Heritage Chinese curriculum will focus on the use of Mandarin Chinese characters. Students expand their Chinese character knowledge and varying writing composition to support their opportunity to succeed in AP and IB Chinese courses. In addition, the students will also explore and reflect on key Chinese cultural and historical events. This course supports and is aligned to the success orientations, competencies, and knowledge noted in the QSI Program Outcomes.
